Hi,
My name is Onion. I remember that I started writing at a very young age but I have no memory of time when I first wrote something original. Part of this comes from my grandfather who wrote under the takhallus ‘Shararat.’ I mainly write prose in English and poems in Hindi and Urdu. My interest in Urdu began with the Ghazals that were published in the Sunday special of an Indian newspaper. I am self taught in whatever small urdu vocabulary I have and pick up words from whatever source I get. I write under the pen name ‘Ghafil’ which means fool or uninformed. This is inspired from the Stay hungry Stay Foolish philosophy.
I started blogging in May 2005 and I don’t even remember my first blog address which was hosted at Blogger. I created several blogs and subsequently deleted them because I wanted each one of them to specialize in some thing but found myself less on time and ink (read: keytaps). I finally settled on two WordPress blogs. On the Valentine day, 2007 I shut those blogs too because somehow I felt that I needed a change again. The change is now here as Peeling Onions. In my last post on those blogs I had written:
I am posting after one month and fourteen days and it won’t be any more than this. It’s Valentine Day today and what better a day than this to choose to end it.
Good bye blue sky, I had a good time flying.
But it’s time to go now, now that I am dying.
I will meet you somewhere in the rainbows,
Look for me as far as the road goes.
Adios.
The road ends here.I hope to post on this blog but I am not sure about regularity given that some committments seem to take most of my time right now. I hope for good though.
Anybody interested in any correspondence can contact me at mail@arvindkothari.com.
If you find anything interesting in this blog and reproduce it somewhere, it would be really very nice if you could just give me a tiny little mention somewhere.
Regards,
Onion
